Trance work can require a lot of energy. Mother Earth is a good source of energy, so let's open a channel to her.

Imagine yourself as a tree. Your spine is the trunk of that tree and your roots grow out of your toes and extend deep into the Earth. Follow your roots, through the cracks in the floor, down into the topsoil.

The topsoil, where hordes of microscopic critters are busy turning rot, waste, and death into fertility and life. Keep following your roots on down to the water table.

Water, the prerequisite for life. Our bodies are almost all water. From space, Mother Earth is blue, the color of water. Travel your root system on down. Down to the bedrock.

Feel the strength of the bedrock. Feel the patience of the bedrock.... Look around for a crack in the bedrock, and descend with your roots on down...down....down to where the continents float on pools of molten lava.

Here, at the fires at the center of the Earth, we can release our doubts, our fears, our daily baggage, any trepidations we may have about the task at hand. Let them all be consumed by the fire, to be recycled into new energy.

Now, as you breathe, draw up power from the Earth. From the fire,...from the bedrock,...from the water,...and from the topsoil. Like sap rising through a tree, you can feel the energy flowing through your branches and up into your crown. The energy bursts out of the top of your crown and grows up over us, like the forest canopy, sheltering us and protecting us. Now add your own energy to this Earth energy and let it flow into your twigs, which are intertwined with each others' twigs, and send it around the circle, sharing it, empowering us, and strengthening us....
